Mr. William Morrison Harrison, of 104 Pebble Hill Road SE, Milledgeville, Georgia passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at his residence.
Memorial services were held on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 11:00 AM from the Griffin Memorial Chapel of Slater's Funeral Home.
Mr.William Morrison Harrison was born on February 16, 1931 to the parentage of the late Mr. Louis Kemp and the late Mrs. Annie Rebecca Harrison Solomon in Milledgeville, Georgia. He was known to many as "Smiley to the older generation. The younger generation called him "Pop". At an early age he joined St. Paul Baptist Church on Stembridge Road. He also attended school at the country church.
His first job after leaving school and the farm was Bone Brick Yard. During that time he was called to serve in the Korean War from 1951-1953. Upon his return to Milledgeville, he me and married Sophie Howard. Their union was blessed in 1954. His wife Sophie preceded him in death in April of 1987.
Afterwards he left Milledgeville and traveled to different states. During his travels he met many people that he called his friends. He always had a smile on his face. So the nickname "Smiley" traveled with him. In 1987 he returned to Milledgeville until his demise.
He leaves to be cherished in memory by his daughter, Victoria H. Parks, of Milledgeville, GA; sister, Ellen Solomon, of Milledgeville, GA; three grandchildren: Veronica Harris (Silas) Dyous, of Milledgeville, GA, Dorsey Harrison, William L. Parks, both Atlanta, GA; sister-n-law, Deborah Solomon, of Milledgeville, GA; two nieces: Renee Solomon (William) Lynch, of Stocks Borough, PA, Sadie Lee, of Charlotte, NC; two nephews: Calvin (Crystal) Solomon, of Manasassas, VA, Judge Herbert Solomon, of Albany, GA; great grandchildren: Xavier (Rose) Harris, Ke'Sharae Nicole Parks, Ke'Andre Nicholas Parks, Sylisha Shakera Dyous, Ka'Najaha Tykia, Quavion Myleke Parks, Zkwon Shamour Dyous; one great-great grandchild, Desirae Zemira Harris; several other relatives and friends.
