Velmon (Primas) Barnes Obituary

Early on the morning of Saturday, October 12, 2024, an angel whispered in her ear “Velma it is time to take your flight to heaven”. She transitioned peacefully to her heavenly home at Piedmont Rockdale Hospital of Conyers, GA.

She was employed at Rheem of Milledgeville, Georgia for many years. Early in life she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She attended Second Beulah Baptist Church where she was a lifelong member. She served faithfully on the Usher Board until her health declined and
she transitioned to a Trustee.

In her pastime, Velma loved spending time with her daughter, grandkids, and great grands. She had a joy for traveling all over the world, fishing, animals, and binge watching Crime TV.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Eva Primas; siblings, Bernestine Barron, Joseph Primas Jr., Katie Moore, Jaunita Beckham, and Josie Brown; daughters, Jocelyn Parks and Shameka Barnes.

Velma leaves to cherish her memories of her beautiful life, a loving husband, Donald Barnes of Milledgeville, GA; one daughter and son-in-love, Tracy and Terry Levette of Demascus, GA; four grandkids, Sededrick Parks (Vanessa) of Melborne, Florida, Jocelyn Parks (Ira) of Columbus, GA, Brandon Holloway of Smyrna, GA, and Xaviera Hicks (Jake) of Valdosta, GA; three great grands, Maliyah and Mason Parks of Melborne, FL and  Amayah Holloway of New Jersey; two sisters, Betty Roberts of Milledgeville, GA and Barbara Stephens of North Carolina; one brother, John Primas of Milledgeville, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
