Mr. Tony L. Hawkins, Sr., Milledgeville, Georgia departed this life on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Navicent Health Baldwin, Milledgeville, Georgia. 

Graveside services were held on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Scenic Memorial Gardens, Milledgeville, Georgia.

Tony Lanier Hawkins, Sr. was born on February 8, 1954 in Milledgeville, Georgia to the parentage of Robert Curtis Hawkins, Sr. and Minnie Inez Baymon “Polly” Hawkins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 34 years Mae Felton Owens Hawkins, brother Robert Curtis Hawkins, Jr., and sister Cathy Jean Hawkins Grimes.

On Saturday, May 16, 2020, Tony was called to rest at the age of 66.

Tony graduated from Baldwin High School and received his Bachelors of Business Administration from Fort Valley State University. In the spring of 1974, he pledge to the Esquire XIII Fraternity Incorporated line called The Lord’s Children (#10 on the line). Tennis and basketball was among the many sports that he loved to play. One of his most prized moments was running the winning touchdown for the Flag Bowl Championship at FVSU.

He leaves to cherish his memory three children: Tony Hawkins, Jr. (Veronica) of Acworth, Georgia, Marcus Hawkins (Nastassja) of Kennesaw, Georgia, and Dana Hawkins of Austell, Georgia; sister, Joyce H. Brown (James) of Elko, Georgia; brother, James L. Hawkins (Marquita) of Macon, Georgia; devolved partner, Devalyn Williams and children, Shaquille Wright and Jacarus Sherman, all of Milledgeville, GA; four beloved grandchildren: Tony Hawkins III, Debrielle Hawkins, Meshelle Scott, and Luna Hawkins; an abundance of wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
