Timothy Canty

It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mr. Timothy Canty, Milledgeville, Georgia. Mr. Canty passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022. 

Graveside services were held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM from the Scenic Memorial Garden Cemetery, Milledgeville, Georgia. 

Mr. Canty was born to the parentage of the late, Ernest Manson and Christine Canty. He was preceded in death by, his father, Ernest Manson, Sr., his grandfather, Odum Canty, Sr., his grandmothers, Annie Canty, and Annie Reaves.

He received his education from the Baldwin County Schools system and Job Corps. Upon entering the work force, he was a Refuse Collector for the City of Milledgeville for four years, Housekeeper at Georgia War Veterans for five years, and he worked at Georgia Pacific as Line Worker for fifteen plus years, and various other jobs. When he was not working, he enjoyed playing numbers and watching various sports and westerns on TV.

He is survived by his devoted mother, Christine Canty of Milledgeville, GA; two sons, Cabotis Canty, Sr. of Milledgeville, GA and Javious Canty of Atlanta, GA; one grandson, Cabotis Canty, Jr. of Milledgeville, GA; one brother, Ernest Manson, Jr. of Milledgeville, GA; one sister, Sonya Manson of Milledgeville, GA; five uncles, Odum Canty, Jr. (Jeanette), Jesse Canty, Arthur Canty, Wilbur Manson and Arthur Terrell (Robin), all of Milledgeville; four aunts, Eva Harris, Leatha Williams, Lettie Brantley, and Jenita Reaves all of Milledgeville, GA; one great-aunt, Beatrice Henry of Milledgeville, GA; two devoted friends, Ryan Rayford and Kenneth Moore, both of Milledgeville, GA. He also leaves behind a host of other relatives.
