Thomas will be truly missed.  I was fortunate enough to know Thomas from his frequent visits to Clyde's Kitchen for lunch in Atlanta.  He was such a joy with his greeting of "hello darlin", I love you". One of his favorite desserts was apple pie.  He always thanked me for lunch before going on his way.  I only knew Thomas for a short time but I will forever remember him.

Mr. Thomas "Mutt" Howard, last time I remember seeing you we were in Hapeville. Since then for the last 20-25 years, I have been searching for you. Based on what I've been hearing about where you were and from where I thought you may have been, I searched those areas but to no avail did I find you. I'm so sorry my friend that this is the way I had to finally find where you were. There is some consolation to me in this that I finally find you although it is very painful for me to find you this way. I just only wish that for me to finally know where you are that it would be much different than this. I will miss you my friend. You know as well as I that our friendship was real, sincere and real.
