It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mrs. Susie Hill, Lancaster, Texas. Mrs. Hill passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023.
Graveside services were held on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 11:00 AM from the David B. Hill Family Cemetery, Haddock, Georgia.
Susie Hill was born to the union of Charlie and Susie Hill on March 2, 1938, in Jones County, Georgia. Susie was preceeded in death by her parents, five brothers; Charlie Hill, Randolph Hill, Calder Hill, Roosevelt Hill and Ben Roy Hill; four sisters, Anna Finney, Ollie Coman, Lavenia Hill, Fannie Harper and Mary C. Ashley.
After Graduation from County Line School in Baldwin County, she moved to Chicago where she had a strong family support system While in Chicago, she took classes to advance, her career. This goal and determination landed her a position in the Buyers Offices for Goldblatt's Department Stores in Chicago.
While in Chicago she met and married the love of her life Charles Hill. To this union their beautiful daughter Robin Denise Hill-Curry was born. Sadly, Robin preceeded her in death.
After spending many winters in Chicago Susie decided to exchange Chicago's winter weather for the Georgia sunshine. Her experience from Chicago landed her a position in the Executive Buying Offices for Rich's Department stores in Atlanta. There, she worked with the Chief Executive of the Buying Department. She continued her working career in Retail at Macys in Macon, Georgia.
Susie accepted Christ in her life at an early age. She regularly attended Flagg Chapel in Milledgeville, Georgia, under the leadership of Pastor Reed.
Susie leaves to treasure her memory two Granddaughters, Jessica Curry and Lauren Andrews; Five Great Grandsons, Jahson, Jayceon, Isaiah, Noah and Jonah; one Brother, Joseph (Yvonne) Hill. Nieces and Nephews who loved her and cared for her dearly along with a host of family and friends.
