Stevie “Boosie” Kelsey was born on July 29,1960, in Baldwin County to the late Henry Thomas Kelsey Sr. and Viola Merrell Kelsey.
Stevie attended Wilkinson County High School and briefly served in the U.S. Army. He then worked for Innovative Packing Company for over 16 years until retirement.
Known for his keen eye and appreciation for the overlooked, he found joy in picking up what he fondly called treasures. His ability to see value in the simplest things reflected his unique spirit and appreciation for life's little wonders. He also deeply loved gospel music and enjoyed attending gospel concerts with the love of his life, Gussie. He found comfort and joy in the uplifting songs performed.
Now he walks where the streets shine brightly, no rust, no junk, just golden light. He's found peace, his work is done, but his memory shines like the morning sun. So, when we see a bright safety vest glow or hear a soft and low hymn, we'll smile and know he's near, not far, still picking up treasures among the stars.
Stevie was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Stewart W. Merrell, Sr. and Henry Kelsey.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Gussie Hunt Kelsey of Milledgeville, Georgia, sister Addie (Paul) Green of Milledgeville, Georgia, Brother Robert Kelsey of Sandersville, GA, nephews/nieces Robert (Keita) Devero of Madison GA, Sharpe, Kelsey, Merrell, and Devero family nieces and nephews. Devoted friends of the Elder, Curry, Clark, Milner, Miller, Jones, and Hartry families, and Joey Jones. Goddaughter Shavonne Bacon and a host of nieces and nephews.
