Samuel Jessie Harris, Jr., of Dublin, Georgia born April 16, 1952 in Washington County to the late Mr. Samuel Jessie Harris, Sr. and Mrs. Christene Harris peacefully transitioned into his eternal resting place on Monday, May 4, 2020 at his residence.
Samuel graduated from T.J. Elder High School in 1970 and joined the military shortly after high school but due to a medical illness was given a honorable discharge. Samuel joined the church at an early age and was a member at Georgia Grove Baptist Church where he became a deacon. He proudly served as a Washington County Fireman from 1981-1991 and also worked as a brick mason.
Samuel married Sandy on December 31, 1979 in Washington County and to this union was born two boys, Samuel III and Christian. He was an avid horse and dog enthusiasts and would spend all day outside enjoying them. He sure loved the kids and the kids loved him back. A very loving father, grandfather, son, brother, friend, and master of all things "Sam" or as in his earlier days "Dirty Red" as he was known. To know him was to love his wit. He never met a stranger that he couldn't put a smile on their face. You never knew what he may say, but rest assured, whatever it may be, it left a lasting impression. He was truly unforgettable.
Samuel was preceded in death by his father, the late Samuel J. Harris Sr. He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife: Mrs. Sandy Harris; children: Victor Harris, Vonetta (James) Martin, Samuel Harris, III, Christian Harris; his mother, Christene Harris; his siblings Vivian (Ricky) Grant, Jacquelyn Parham, Evelyn Baldwin, Charles Harris, and Felton Harris; seven grandchildren:Trey, Justyn, Victoria, Jaylon, Karter, Jerzee, and Samar. He also leaves a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
