Our most loving, Ruby Mae Thomas, was born on December 26, 1943 to the late Walter and Hattie Mae Morris of Hancock County, Georgia. She spent her childhood in Sparta, GA, but later moved to Milledgeville, GA, where she lived the rest of her life. On August 8, 1964, she married her childhood sweetheart, Pierce Thomas Sr. also from Sparta, GA, where they later became proud parents of 2 children, Pierce Jr. and Evonne.
Ruby decided to dedicate her life and become one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1967. Where she was able to share the knowledge of Jehovah and give clear examples of the lengths of his love. It filled Ruby with joy to share bible truths with every person she encountered.
With a heart full of love for others, Ruby started her career as a Caregiver by operating a daycare out of her home. There she cared for an abundance of children across Milledgeville, Georgia and later continued caring for multiple members of her family throughout Middle Georgia. On August 22, 1990, Ruby decided to further her career in childcare by joining the Baldwin County Board of Education, where she became a bus assistant and continued this service up until 2015.
Ruby was preceded in death by her brothers, Louis Morris, Joe Morris and beloved sister, Alice Mae Thomas.
She leaves to cherish her dedicated and devoted husband of 60 years, Pierce Thomas Sr; her 2 children, Pierce Jr. (Joretta), and Evonne; her brothers, Richard, Bennie (Clara), and Walter Jr.; her grandchildren, Cherriel (Willie Jr.), Pierce III (Melanie), Michael Jr.(Trejor), Tyler (Ashley); her great granddaughters, Aaliyah and Blair; as well as an abundance of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She also leaves behind a devoted best friend, Annie L. Reaves, and her loving great grand dog, TK.
