Royal Ray Jones

Mr. Royal R. Jones, of Stockbridge, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at his residence.

Graveside services were held on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at 11:00 AM from the Pearson Chapel Church Cemetery, Sparta, Georgia.

Mr. Royal Ray Jones, known to has family as “Bayhoney”, was born on April 29, 1953 in Sparta, Georgia to the late Mr. Robert and Mrs. Nevie Jones. He was preceded in death by his son: Anthony Shantall Jones; and five brothers: Mr. Albert Jones, and Mr. Kevin Jones, Mr. Robert Jones, Jr., Mr. Andrew Jones, Mr. Jezebel Jones.

Royal received his education at Hancock Central High School where, in 1972, he met his wife, Willie, and had a son. They moved to Atlanta, shortly after, to start their life together. He began working at First Atlanta Bank as a courier, then on to First Data Corporation (now Pinnacle Data Systems) where he has worked for the last 40 years. On Wednesday, March 18, 2020, our beloved father, husband, and brother was called to rest.

His memories will be cherished by his loving wife Mrs. Willie Gay Jones of Stockbridge, GA; his daughter: Mrs. Jillian (Christopher) Morgan of Stockbridge, GA; his four sisters: Mrs. Maggie (Edward) Turner, Mrs. Roseatta Jones-Turner, of Atlanta, GA, Ms. Irone JonesLewis, of Milledgeville, GA, and Mrs. Priscilla Dianna (Sammie) Morris, of Sparta, GA; two brothers: Mr. Freddie (Willie Mae) Jones, Mr. Donald (Vickie) Jones, of Milledgeville, GA; aunt: Ms. Roberta Jones, Sparta, GA;  in-laws:  Mr. Jimmy Lewis, Jr., Mr. Ernest Lewis, Ms. Irean Lewis, Ms. Ethel Brown, Ms. Bertha Stieb , Mr. Johnny (Justina) Lewis, Mrs. Linda (Phillip) Norman, Ms. Patricia Lewis, Mrs. Deborah (Walter) Hoskins, Mr. Tracey (Donna) Lewis; several other relatives and friends.
