Rosilind Gayle Jones was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on March 31, 1952.

Rosilind and baby brother, Peter, moved to Milledgeville when she was only 5 years old. Her parents were the late Reba Jones Brown and Peter Brown, Sr. She was affectionately called “GG” by all who knew her.

“GG” graduated from J. F. Boddie High with the class of 1969. She graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree from Fort Valley State University in June of 1973. She was also a member of Delta Sigma Theta. She furthered her education at Georgia College & State University, where she graduated cum laude with a master's degree. Her best friend, Brenda Davis Murrell, has gone to heaven to meet her there. Our beloved GG entered eternal rest in the Chulio Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center in Rome, GA on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. "Rest on, our sweet GG. Rest in Heavenly peace.”

GG gave us joy and now she leaves memories for us all but especially for her family: brother, Peter Brown, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; aunt, Clarice Jones Todd of Milledgeville, GA; two nephews, Jacinto "Marcus" Todd of Jonesboro, GA, Justin Lewis of Atlanta, GA and one niece, Jasmine Lewis of Atlanta, GA; uncle, Jimmy Todd, Jr. of Milledgeville, GA; cousins, Mary Wells and George "Ricky" Williams, Jemarcus Todd, Antonio Todd, all of Milledgeville, GA, the Hickson Family of Jacksonville, FL, and Robert Jones, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA as well as a host of other family and friends.
