Rogers Preston transitioned from his earthly home on Friday, October 13, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on March 6, 1956 to the late James Preston, Sr. and Rosa Lee Richardson Preston in Milledgeville, GA. He was reared by the late Singo Preston, Sr. and Juanita Dean Preston.
Rogers was a happy child and got along well with others. At an early age, Rogers joined Oak Bethel Pentecostal Church, where he learned the ways of Christ. He received his formal education in the Baldwin County School system.
As an adult, Rogers devoted countless hours honing his skills as a Jack of all trades. You could often find him detailing cars or doing lawn care all around town. He was also known for his signature style. He loved to wear full three-piece suits, along with a big smile on his face. He brightened the lives of those who knew and loved him. In his younger days, he also loved music so much that he would go to the dance hall and assist the DJ with picking the tracks.
Unfortunately, in February 2020, Rogers Life was changed forever. He was in a motor vehicle collision that left him paralyzed. Despite this, he still found joy in living and enjoyed visits with his friends and family.
He was a father figure to many. He will truly be missed.
Rogers was preceded in death by his parents, as well as brothers, Albert Preston and Danreco Dean, Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memories, sisters: Jeannette Preston (Reginald Johnson) of Macon, GA, Katha Holsey (Henry), Matilda Thomas, and Jasmaine Preston, all of Milledgeville; brothers, James Preston, Jr. (Dora) of Brandon, FL, Carl Preston, Jr. and Alonzo Preston, both of Milledgeville; devoted nephews, Samuel Lewis, Jr. of Cartersville, GA, Carlos Preston and Sherwood Frye, both of Macon, GA, and Kelvin Preston of Savannah, GA; devoted friends and family, Perchonia Lester (his love bug), Michael Hightower, Patrick Greggs, Sr., Patrick Greggs, Jr., Arlene Harris
