It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mr. Rodney Hitchcock, Milledgeville, Georgia. Mr. Hitchcock passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 1:00 PM from the Victory Baptist Church, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment followed from the Pine Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, Milledgeville, Georgia.
Rodney B. Hitchcock was born on February 24, 1972, in Milledgeville, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Richard Hitchcock and Ms. Betty Hitchcock.
He received his education from the Baldwin County School System. He was a 1990 graduate of Baldwin High School.
Rodney was a devoted man of God. At the age of 13, he joined Pine Ridge Baptist Church. In 2003, he joined the Deacon Board where he served faithfully. He had a strong adoration for Pine Ridge Baptist Church and the church family.
Rodney had a genuine love for his family, telling stories and jokes to make others laugh, the game of basketball, music, hats, cologne, and dressing sharply. He enjoyed traveling the United States with his wife and was also hard- core Dallas Cowboys fan.
Rodney was a hard worker who loved people. He worked for several local area employer. His Most recent career was in the airline manufacturing industry where he had 25 years of dedicated service with currently Qarbon Aerospace.
Rodeny was proceeded in death by daughter, Briannca; his father, Richard; and grandmother, Lillian Woolfolk.
His Memory will always be cherished by his beloved wife, Shannon; daughters, Kabresha and Niebria; grandsons, TaKiyon and Korrese Horton; mother, Betty; and sister, Rhonda (Shedrick) Porter, nieces, Stormi Porter and Zacori Hurt; nephews Timothy, Zavan, and Zachary Hurt; a devoted uncle, Melvin Hitchcock; mother in-love, Bessie Simmons; sister -in- love , Stephanine Hurt; devoted friend Marcello Hurt, and a host of uncle, aunts , cousins and friends.
