Robert Smith Obituary

Robert Lee Smith was born March 21, 1944, to the parentage of the late Robert C. Smith and Annie Mae Sims Smith. He grew up in the city of Gordon, Georgia among friends and family. He received his education from Hall Monroe Consolidated High School. He was employed at Central State Hospital in Milledgeville, Georgia and Freeport Kaolin in Gordon, Georgia.

At an early age, Robert gave his life to the Lord. He attended the Gordon Church of God in Christ where he sang in the Senior Choir. He loved dressing up. His goal was to outdress his brother Marvin. He also enjoyed going on family vacations and attending family gatherings where he thought he was the designated dancer.

Robert leaves in mourning two sisters, Dr. Dorothy Howell of Gordon, Georgia and Mrs. Brenda Bonner (Walter) of Haddock, Georgia; three brothers, Deacon Jack Smith, Sr., Mr. Albert Smith of Gordon, Georgia, and Elder Marvin Smith (Bertha) of Milledgeville, Georgia, all of whom surrounded him during his illness. He also leaves to mourn a close friend of the family, Mr. Cyler Smith; a special niece, Vivian Smith; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his father Robert C. Smith, his mother Annie Mae Smith, two sisters, Ethel Dupont and Jessie Miller, and one brother Clarence Smith.
