It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mr. Robert Singleton, Milledgeville, Georgia. Mr. Singleton passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 1:00 PM from the Adams Tabernacle CME Church, Haddock, GA. Interment to follow from the Adams Tabernacle CME Church Cemetery, Haddock, GA.
September 8, 2022, Robert James Singleton, Jr. was called home to be with the Lord. Robert was born in Haddock, Georgia on November
27, 1949 to the late Robert James Singleton, Sr. and Eula Mae Haynes Singleton. He attended the public schools of Jones County. He
later worked at Cherokee Products and Pony Express. Robert, also known by many as “High Pocket” due to his love for playing baseball and being one of the best pitcher around Jones County. He also loved fishing and playing spades. He was also known as ‘Ole Skool” and “Boot”. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Eula Singleton; and a brother, Johnny Thomas Singleton.
He leaves to cherish his memories: three daughters, Tameke Singleton Ingram (Dontavious), Nequara Ross, Talonda Ross; one son, Courtney Haynes; five brothers, Melvin, Larry, Michael, Roger, Gus Singleton; grandchildren, Jaden Ross, Jakhari Singleton, Shaniya Ross, Tamiyus Ross, Kacie Battle, Avery Turner; one uncle, Thomas Lee Haynes (Annie); one aunt, Rosa Mae Andrews (Willie Turner); devoted friends, Michael Reid, Tonika Sanders, Caleb Ingram, Meashell Greene; companion, Eleanor Grable; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
