It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mr. Richard Jackson, Milledgeville, Georgia. Mr. Jackson passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of All Faiths, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment followed from the Una Memorial Park, Milledgeville, Georgia.
Mr. Richard Jackson was born on August 16,1958 to the late Elizabeth Jackson Burke and Ezelle Moore.
His education was obtained at JF Boddie High School, graduating in 1976. After graduation, Richard joined the National Guard Armory. He was employed with Central State Hospital where he worked faithfully, retiring after 30 years of service.
Ricky was a member of the Bible Revival Church where he was a guitarist. He also played occasionally at New Beginnings Church. Music was his passion, he was a guitarist for several bands over the years, including Magic Touch and Romeo. Ricky was a previous member of Baldwin Masonic Lodge #159, Stolkin Temple #22, and Robert L. Wilson #376 A.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Jackson Giles.
Ricky is survived by two daughters, Ranesha Jackson, Milledgeville, GA, D'erica Worthen of Dublin, GA; one son, Private 1st Class Richard Jackson, Jr., Fort Hood, TX; one brother, Marvin Jackson, Sr., Milledgeville, GA; a devoted companion and caregiver, Kathy Strang, Milledgeville, GA; a devoted aunt, Annie Mary Ward, Milledgeville, GA; aunts, Mae Bell Harris, Katherine Wright and Aretha Simmons, all of Milledgeville, GA; uncles, Willie Moore, Sr., Milledgeville, GA, Leroy Moore of Camden, NJ, Lucious (Gail) Moore of Conyers, GA; nieces, Dermetrics Warren, Alisha (Derrick) Giles Lawson, Latasha Giles Horton, Danielle Jackson, all of Milledgeville, GA, Connie Humphrey, Atlanta, GA; nephew, Marvin (Yawnsha) Jackson, Jr., Grayson, GA; devoted cousins, Roylean (Bobby) Hill, Pamela (Johnny) Speights, Cynthia Ward (Vince) Edwards, Joseph (Tanger) Ward, Jr., Lee Arthur (Delois) Jackson, all of Milledgeville, GA; God mother, Yvonne Brooks-Ferrell of Milledgeville, GA; a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives.
