It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Rev. Paul Roberson Jr., Milledgeville, Georgia. Mr. Roberson passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 2:00 PM from the Union Hill Baptist Church, Tennille, Georgia, the interment followed at the Bold Spring Baptist Church Cemetery, Sandersville, Georgia. Public viewing was held Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and visitation followed from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM from the Green Grove Baptist Church, Sandersville, Georgia.
Rev. Paul Roberson was born on January 6, 1944, to the parents of the late Charlie Paul Roberson, Sr. and Pinky Lue Roberson in Sandersville, GA.
Paul Roberson attended school in Washington County School System and graduated with the class of 1962.
Rev. Paul Roberson married the love of his life, Sallie Lue Hall Roberson on December 6, 1964. Their union was blessed with four daughters, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Rev. Paul Roberson worked as a Plant Supervisor at Imery’s Mine for thirty plus years until retirement. Later after retirement he attended Sandersville Technical College to get his commercial driving license (CDL) but was so attached to his wife he could never leave knowing his wife was at home.
Our father gave his life to Christ at a young age, being baptized at Bay Spring Baptist Church.
After marriage he moved his membership to Bold Spring Baptist Church where he served faithfully as Deacon until he was called into the Ministry in 2004. Rev. Paul Roberson served faithfully as Pastor of Bay Spring Baptist Church and Green Grove Baptist Church until his death. He was also a dedicated Minister for Flagg Chapel Missionary Baptist Church's nursing home ministry for middle Georgia. Rev. Paul Roberson is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Paul Roberson, Sr. and Pinky Lue Roberson; his brother, Timothy Roberson.
He is survived by his wife, Sallie L. Roberson of Milledgeville, GA; four daughters, Deborah (Jessie)Washington of Milledgeville, GA, Paulene Roberson of Milledgeville, GA, Arlene(David)Evans of Harlem, GA, Denise Mays of Byron, GA; eleven grandchildren, Brianna Thomas of Daytona Beach, FL, David Roberson of Statesboro, GA, Brandon Roberson, Danielle Roberson of Byron, GA, Jessie Washington III, Jana Washington of Milledgeville, GA, Jessica Lawrence of Warner Robins, GA, Justin Butts, Janae Butts, Jordan Butts, all of Milledgeville, GA, and Layla Evans of Harlem, GA; two greatgrandchildren, Aubrey Lawrence and Austen Lawrence; siblings, Rev. Willie (Janet) Roberson, Chester (Kathy) Roberson, all of Sandersville, GA, Ricky Roberson of Milledgeville, GA, Charlene (Shon) Chapman of Milledgeville, GA, Mary Ann (Julius) Grable, Gainesville, GA; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
