It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater’s Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mr. Randy Alan Brooks, 58, of Milledgeville, Georgia. Mr. Brooks passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 11:00 AM from the Griffin Memorial Chapel of Slater's Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Son's of Wisdom and Daughter's of Light Society Cemetery of County Line Baptist Church.
Mr. Randy Alan Brooks was born on April 3, 1963 to his parents of the late Roosevelt Zachary and the late Gladys Brooks. Randy was raised and born in Milledgeville. Randy graduated from Baldwin High School in 1981 and enlisted in the United States Military in 1991. Randy is a veteran of the IRAQ war. He served honorable and retired from the United States Army achieving the rank of Specialist. Randy devoted 18 years of his life to the military. Randy’s experience in the military played a very important role in his life. He frequently pointed out the army thought him the value of teamwork and hard work. He learned the moral of respect and lived by it. Selfless, loving, respectful, and outgoing are just few of many good words to describe Randy A. Brooks. Many will remember Randy as a man with a smile on his face. A man who would give you the shirt off his back, while asking how else could he be of an assistance. He was a family-oriented man and dearly loved his family. His greatest hobby was fishing. Randy created a legacy that will live forever. The LIVING LEGEND will be loved and missed by many. Besides his parents, Mr. Brooks was preceded in his home going by his sisters; the late Tonia Johnson, the late Ossie Johnson, and the late Janice Brooks and his brothers; the late Luther Brooks, the late Timothy Zachary, the late Dexter Zachary and the late Roosevelt Zachary Jr. and his Aunt; the late Geraldine Myrick.
He is survived by his loving wife Latisha Brooks, his children Jamel Brooks, Keynelvas Brooks, Lacey Brooks, Shanteria Brooks, Bre Brown, Randy Brooks Jr. Rakaylla Brooks, and Raniyyja Brooks all of Milledgeville, GA. He is adored by a host of grandkids who lovingly called him “grandad” or “meathead”. Randy shall also be mourned by his Half-brothers and half-sisters: Mr. Kirk Zachary (Trina) of Augusta, Mrs. Marian Wimberly (Steve) & Ms. Angelika Zachary-Johnson of Milledgeville, Mrs. Kimberly Trawick (Richard) of Milner GA, Ms. Tami. Jones (Frederick) of Atlanta. Uncles; Mr. Robert Zachary (Hermia Lee), Mr. Harry Zachary, Mr. Steve Zachary (Ruby), all of Milledgeville. Aunts; of Milledgeville, Mrs. Valencia Zachary-Cummings (Albert) of Loganville, Mrs. Francine Whipple of Macon, Mrs. Willie Pearl Randolph, of Henderson, KY, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
