It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater’s Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mr. Randolph Jones, Jr., 66 of Macon, Georgia. Mr. Jones passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 2:00 PM from the Jesus Christ Today Ministries, Sparta, Georgia. Interment followed in the WMBS Society Cemetery of Friendship Baptist Church, Milledgeville, Georgia.
On January 21, 2022, Randolph Jones, Jr. entered into rest in the peaceful confines at his residence in Macon, GA. On November 17, 1955, Randolph Jones, Jr. was born to the parentage of the late Randolph Jones, Sr. and the late Carrie Butts Jones, pioneer citizens of Milledgeville, GA where he was reared and attended school. He was taught at a very early age to revere and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior. He was known and called Randy by his family and loved ones from his youth. At a very early age he joined the United States military where he proudly served his country. He was employed by Rheem Manufacturing Plant, he worked for several construction companies, a maintenance technician, and his main occupation was a concrete finisher. He also worked as a furniture store delivery employee until his retirement. He was skilled in several areas of craftmanship. He served as an Elder at his church (JCTM) where he faithfully attended and served until his demise. His Pastor and brother Bishop Jones says he was the early bird because he came to church way ahead of everyone else turning on the lights and getting things ready for the church service. Randy leaves to cherish in memory and love, his daughter, Rashanna (William) Jones of Triangle, Virginia; grandchildren, Anfernee of Lithonia, GA, Deriauna, Soloman, Collin, and Zoe; brothers, Bishop John (Beverly) Jones, Sr., Elder Samuel Jones, and Righteous Jones, all of Milledgeville, GA; sisters, Joann Russell, Bertha Jones, Samantha (Keith) McCready, and Melinda Jones, all of Milledgeville, GA; a devoted nephew, Casey Peeler; a devoted niece, Shontriska Poole; uncle, Eugene Harden; great uncles, Charlie Jones, Gene Jones and Dorsey Jones, all of Milledgeville, GA; great aunts, Amanda Washington of Milledgeville, GA, and Henrietta Barnes of Sparta, GA; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends are also surviving him.
