Pamela Burden Obituary

It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Ms. Pamela Burden, Dublin, Georgia. Ms. Burden passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 1:00 PM from the New Birth Christian Ministries Church, Tennille, Georgia. The interment followed at St. Luke AME Church Cemetery.

Ms. Pamela Burden, was born December 23, 1957 to the parentage of Addie Lee Brown & Gus Purvey. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Joyce Monique Stephens and several siblings. She attended the Washington County Public School System and graduated from Washington County High School in 1976. After completing high school, she followed her passion and love for customer service in the fast-food industry which she worked for several years. She attended Fall Line Technical School and obtained her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. She later became married and began her family. After several tragic life experiences she comforted her pain with alternative methods that led to substance abuse which by the Grace of God, she eventually overcame and got her life back on track. She was a survivor. She survived a broken neck, cancer, and a severe case of COVID. Her purpose was clear, to spread love and joy wherever she went. She was such fun to be around and to know her was to love her. No matter what happened, if she was for you, you had a “ride or die partner” and that was never a question. She will be truly missed.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Children: Sheronica Stephens and Jamica Stephens , Dublin, Georgia; Grandchildren: Jamekiya Abraham, Cordazha Dawson, Antwon Stephens, Adolphus Foster, Saige Stephens Kelis Lawrence, all of Dublin, Georgia; Siblings: Peronia Jenkins of Harrison, Georgia, Venida (Calvin) Curry, of Sandersville, Georgia, Margaret (Willie) Bailey of Dublin, Georgia, Joseph (Juanita) Purvey, Thomas Purvey of Tennille, Georgia; Stepmom: Lizzie Mae Purvey and a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She also leaves four devoted friends: Gwendolyn Lee, Evelyn Pauldo, Ellis Charleston, and Patricia Lawrence. A special friend, Amos Buckner.

A special recognition of her love for her classmates of the Washington County High School Class of 1976.
