At this time, it is with great sorrow that we are here to remember the life and celebrate the homegoing of our beloved husband, father and brother. On November 6, 2023, Norris departed from his earthly life after fulfilling his earthly Commission.

Norris was born on August 16, 1962, in Haddock, GA to the late Margaret Miliner-Johnson and Theotis Johnson.

Norris received his education in the public schools of Baldwin County. After graduating from MTC, he worked as an electrician serving Baldwin and surrounding counties. He was also a devoted employee at Englehard and Lowes for several years. Anyone who knows Norris knew that he was the light and life of any gathering. Norris' hobbies consisted of fishing, trail rides, camping and hosting family gatherings. Norris will be truly missed.

Norris was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, James O. Johnson and Charlie S. Johnson.


He is survived by his loving and devoted wife; Barbara Granby-Johnson; four sons, Johnny Granby (Suelema), Tomeika Torrence (Kirstin), Hal Vashaun Hooks (Ashanti) and Otavious Johnson; two brothers, Marion Johnson and Theodore Johnson (Cynthia); two sisters, Evelyn Johnson and Helen Youngblood (Carlton Sr.); six grandchildren; Jamari Hooks, Ticaria Brown, Ny'Zhir Granby, Amir Granby, Sa'Mari Torrance, and Aaron Thompkins; a devoted niece, LaToya Jordan (Charles); two devoted nephews, Carlton Youngblood Jr. and Robert Youngblood. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
