Mrs. Susie Lundy Obituary
Susie Mae Roberson Lundy born January 19th, 1945, to the parentage of the late Arthur and the Late Lucy Marshall Roberson in Sparta, Georgia. She was educated in the public schools in Hancock County, Georgia. At an early age, she joined Second Darien Baptist Church and served faithfully. She was the oldest of nine children. Susie was reared by her uncle and aunt, the late Willie Aldo and late Annie Lee Marshall Roberson.
She was united in holy matrimony to the late Willie E. (Boot) Lundy for 42 years, and to this union they were blessed with five children.
In the mid 1960's during the Jim Crow Era, Susie broke barriers as one of the first Black women to work as a quality control lab technician at Madison-Thorne Textiles, paving the way for others like herself in the workplace. In 1973, she joined Meadows & Barnet, which later became Mohawk Industries. Susie was a shift supervisor and retired after 34 years of service in 2007. She was known as a strong and no nonsense supervisor that led with fairness. She advocated for her employees, which she earned both their respect and trust. Susie's most important legacy was her commitment to giving others a second chance by offering them jobs and a fresh start to those striving to rebuild their lives.
In the early morning of Wednesday, April 15, 2026, our beloved Susie transitioned into eternal rest in the peace and the quiet of her home, leaving behind a legacy of love that will forever live in our hearts.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Arthur and Lucy Roberson; Uncle and Aunt Willie Aldo and Annie L. Roberson; Husband Willie E. (Boot) Lundy; siblings, Helen, Mamie Kate, and Jeanette Roberson.
