Edith R. Lee, 67, entered eternal rest on March 16, 2026. She was born on July 19, 1958, and lived a life defined by strength, independence, and a personality all her own. Edith was known for being outspoken and unafraid to speak her mind. She believed in doing what was right and holding people accountable, never hesitating to stand firm in her beliefs. Whether at home or in her community, she made her presence known and stayed true to herself.
Edith lived life on her own terms. She was resilient, strong-willed, and carried a bold spirit that left an impression on those who knew her. Though she kept a close circle, her voice, her strength, and her way of seeing things will not be forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Jr.; her parents, Leroy James Sr. and Lillian P. James; her brothers, Leroy James Jr., Jesse James, Matthew James, and Frank James; and her sister, Shirley D. Thomas.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Willie James (Sametris), Lavar James, and Jenifer R. Wimberly; her grandchildren, David S. Wimberly Jr., Summer Alexia Nicole Wimberly, and Gabrielle Elizabeth Wimberly; her great-grandson, Valentino Mar’zel Zielinski; her brothers, Samson James, Alvin James, Jimmy Lee James, and Mark James; along with a host of nieces and nephews, extended family, and loved ones.
