Mrs. Dinah M. Yarber Obituary
Dinah Marie Yarber was born on December 29, 1949, to the late Shine Munford and Ruby Godfrey. She peacefully departed this life on May 31, 2026, at her home in Milledgeville, Georgia. Dinah attended Wilkinson County High School, where she proudly played basketball for the Wilco Warriors. During her years on the team, her coach and teammates affectionately nicknamed her “Dino,” a name that remained with her throughout her life. On New Year's Day in 1982, Dinah met the love of her life, Lewis Yarber Jr. Their love story blossomed over the years, and they were united in marriage on May 24, 1993. Together they shared 46 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and devotion.
Dinah was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who cherished her family above all else. She loved to dance and was known as the life of the party. Whenever she entered a room, she brought joy, laughter, and energy that could instantly brighten everyone's day. She never forgot a birthday and always made those around her feel loved and appreciated. Her heart was open to everyone, and she was always willing to help family, friends, strangers, and even those who may have wronged her.
Known for her impeccable sense of style, Dinah could always dress with elegance and confidence. She loved fashion, cooking, and creating memories with those she loved. For over a decade, she faithfully served as a Housekeeping Supervisor at Chaplinwood, where she was respected for her dedication, strong work ethic, and willingness to help others. As the years passed, Dinah gave her life to God and became a devoted member of Bethlehem Free Seventh-day Adventist Church in Jones County, Georgia, where her faith continued to grow and guide her life.
Dinah was preceded in death by her parents, Shine Munford and Ruby Godfrey; her son, Keith B. Godfrey; her siblings, Hubert Munford Jr., Quincy Munford, and Jonnie Mae Thomas; her brother-in-law, Milton Thomas; her sister Louise Boyington's husband, Freddy Boyington; and her beloved best friend, Joyce. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Lewis Yarber Jr.; her children, Tammie Hughes, Kenyetta Hughes, Anthony Hughes, Orlando Yarber (Wife-Jamilla), Felicia Boone (Telly Boone), Lewis Yarber III, Barloshon Yarber (Jazmine Ross), and Shamone Yarber; her sister, Louise Boyington; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
