In Loving Memory of Gerald Tyrone Williams
With heavy hearts and loving memories, we announce the passing of Gerald Tyrone Williams, Sr., who departed this life and was called home by his Heavenly Father on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
Gerald was born on March 9, 1972, to the late Mr. Willie Lee Williams, Sr., and Mrs. Evangelist Annie Mae Williams. He attended the Jones County School System in Gray, Georgia. He later moved to Atlanta, where he graduated from McNair Senior High School.
Gerald was a loving father, proud grandfather, cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend. His greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved. Whether he was preparing a delicious meal for his family or dancing with joy, Gerald had a special gift for bringing people together and creating lasting memories.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gelana Williams; his grandfather, Major Williams, Sr. (Mr. Eddie West); his grandmother, Gladys West; his grandfather, Mr. Dover Tuft, Sr.; Ms. Rebecca Tuft; and his brother, Mr. Willie Lee Williams, Jr.
Gerald leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving mother, Mrs. Evangelist Annie Mae Williams; his daughters, Tineka (Ed “Quiso”) Warthen and Teeshia (Tylor) Welsh; his sons, Gerald Tyrone Williams, Jr., Christopher Brown, and Kerry Williams; four siblings, Beverly (Edsel) Owens, Mr. Lawrence Tuft, Felina (Ron) Brantley, and Ms. Elizabeth Tuft; Ms. Debra Tuft; Jennifer (Leonard) Smith, Sr.; Mr. Willie L. (Veronica) Williams III; Tyrone Hitchcox; uncles, Albert Tuft (Ida Mae) and Edward Tuft; aunt, Mary Lee Tuft; six grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and a close cousin whom he loved as a brother, Mr. Gabriel Lamar.
