Mozelle Griffin Obituary

Mrs. Mozelle Reese Griffin was born on December 12, 1929, to the parentage of David and Mandy Lou Edwards Reese.

Mozelle was educated in the Baldwin County School System. She was married to the love of her life, Willie T. Griffin, Sr. on May 23, 1945. In this union they were blessed with ten children.

Mozelle was an active member of Union Baptist Church. In her early years, she sang in the choir. She loved her church and was a faithful, active member.

As a young adult mother she had been a stay at home mom for over twenty years when she became employed in the Central Kitchen at Central State Hospital in 1968.  There, she enjoyed lifelong friendships, attending classes, and scheduled functions.  She retired in 1994.

Mozelle was truly a Proverbs 31 woman. She was full of wisdom, and had much love for everyone she met. She loved to cook for her family, travel, and spend time with family and friends. Most memorable about Mozelle, she had this soft warm face that was bright and reassuring with the presence of a lovely, infectious smile. She also was a member of the AARP Baldwin Chapter #5387.

Mozelle was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband Willie T. Griffin, Sr.; sister, Claudia Martin; children, Roy Griffin, Larry Smith, Barbara, Linda Griffin, and Willie T. Griffin, Jr.

Mozelle leaves to cherish her loving memories, daughters, Mozella Hill, Milledgeville, GA; Claudia Griffin, Paterson, NJ; sons, David Griffin, Yakima, Washington; James Griffin and Gregory Griffin, Milledgeville, GA; grandchildren, Sydney Lamont Caldwell, Shannon Hill, Milledgeville, GA, Wendy Harris, Sanford, Florida; Sean Griffin, NJ; James “Tony” (Shantrese) Griffin and Apollo Griffin, Milledgeville, GA, and Elijah Griffin, Riverdale, GA; daughter-in-love, Carol Griffin, Milledgeville, GA; cousin, Henry (Inez) Hightower; a host of loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
