Minister Tommy Clark Obituary

It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mr. Tommy Clark, Milledgeville, Georgia. Mr. Clark passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.

Funeral services were held on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Flagg Chapel Baptist Church; Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment followed from the Scenic Memorial Gardens; Milledgeville, Georgia.

Tommy Lee Clark, 65, of Milledgeville, Georgia, was called home on the morning of October 24, 2023.

Tommy was born on May 26, 1958 to Laura Sanford Clark and Rev. Paul Roberson of Milledgeville. Tommy began his career as a painter at the age of 13. He later began to develop his skills as a singer and after years of being on the road as the lead singer with the Music Makers, Tommy critiqued his skills so well that he won Milledgeville Idol in 2012.

Anyone who knew him, knew that he was the light and life of any gathering. If painting and singing would've let him down, we all know that he could've made it as a comedian because he knew how to make people laugh and enjoy life.

In 2018, Tommy became an ordained minister under the leadership of Rev. Omer Reid of Flagg Chapel Baptist Church where he served as a minister of the gospel and sung praises unto the Lord with multiple choirs within.

Tommy's hobbies consisted of cooking, singing, playing golf, fishing, going to professional baseball, basketball and football games, hanging out with his grandkids, and enjoying time with family.

Everyone knows that Tommy could sing but if you really knew him, he would always say, “I'm not a singer who paints, but I'm a painter that just so happens to be able to sing!” Painting was his bread and butter, and he was definitely great at what he did.

Tommy was predeceased by his mother (Laura Sanford Clark), father (Rev. Paul Roberson, his sisters (Peggy Clark and Ruthie Mae Clark), and brothers (Johnette Clark and David Clark). He is survived by his wife, (Surbrena Clark), his children (Charmony Pounds, Tiffany Clark, Ashley (Willie) Sutton, Tommy Lee Clark, Jr.), his grandson, (Adrian Jackson), granddaughter (Bri'Elle Pounds), his sister, (Joanette Harden), and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
