It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mrs. Mildred Williams, Haddock, Georgia. Mrs. Williams passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023.

Graveside services were held on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the New Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery, Bradley, Georgia.

Mildred Louise Finney Williams was born on July 29, 1943 to the late Willie Mae and Elbert Finney.  She was the third oldest child and the oldest daughter of six children.  She is preceded in death by her late husband, Johnnie Lee Williams.

As a teenager she joined Ellis Chapel Baptist Church.  She graduated from Maggie Califf in 1962.  In 1965, Mildred moved to Chicago, Illinois to improve her life.  There she was joined in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life, Johnnie Lee Williams on September 4, 1965.

Early Thursday, April 20, 2023, Mildred passed away at Lynn Haven Nursing Home.  She will be missed, but not forgotten.

In loving memory, she leaves behind three children, Brenda Williams, Calvin Williams, both of Haddock, GA, and John Williams (Mildred) of Chicago, IL; two grandchildren, Leslie Williams and Patrick Williams; four brothers, Johnny Finney of Milledgeville, GA, Willie James Finney (El Nora) of Macon, GA, Leroy Finney of Fort Pierce, FL, and Patrick Finney (Denise) of Augusta, GA; one sister, Betty Lamar (Eddie) of Macon; two aunts; one uncle; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
