Michael Butts

It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mr. Michael Butts, Milledgeville, Georgia. Mr. Butts passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Victory Baptist Church, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment followed from the Dunn Hill Cemetery, Milledgeville, Georgia.

Mr. Michael Charles Butts, Sr. was born September 27, 1967, in Richmond County, Augusta, Georgia to the parentage of the late Adam James Butts and Maude Mason Butts. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Adam James Butts, Jr.

Michael was employed by Fiber Vision INC. for two and a half years. He enjoyed spending time with his cousin Boe Walls, and fishing but most of all spending quality time with his children, grandchildren, and family members.

On Saturday, September 9, 2023, our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend entered eternal rest.

His memories shall always be cherished by his two sons, Mr. Michael Charles, Jr. (Shacara) Butts of Covington, GA, and Mr. Marquez Simmons (Yasmine Hurst) of Milledgeville, GA; five grandchildren, Michael Charles Butts III, Peyton Olivia Butts of Covington, GA, Jayden, Jayde, and JeKari Simmons of Milledgeville, GA; three sisters, Ms. Jeannette Pelt, Mrs. Patricia (Donald) Ross, and Mrs. Zodie (Keith) Carter, all of Milledgeville, GA; six aunts, Ms. Katie Mason of Covington, GA,  Ms. Tammie Goddard, Ms. Catherine Stephens, Ms. Lourine J. Reeves, and Ms. Everine Mitchell, all of Milledgeville, GA, and Mrs. Shirley Brown of Atlanta, Ga; six uncles, Mr. Tommy Butts, Mr. James Trawick,  Mr. William Goddard, Mr. James (Laura) Goddard, and Mr. Marcus Dixon of Milledgeville, GA, Mr. David Goddard of Atlanta, GA; one great uncle, Mr. Clifford Butts of Atlanta, GA; devoted friend/ex-wife, Ms. Renee Butts; devoted friend, Mr. Wilbert Simmons of Milledgeville, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends who loved and cherished him dearly.
