Melvin Taylor Sr. Obituary

Melvin Taylor, Sr. was born August 4, 1964, in Milledgeville, Georgia to the parentage of David Simmons and Daisy Louvern Pitts.

Melvin obtained his education in the Baldwin County Public Schools. After completing the 8th grade, he left to start the family's lawn care business.  Later in life, he was gainfully employed at Central State Hospital as a Health Service Technician.

Melvin loved to crack jokes on people. Therefore, it's to no surprise that one of his favorite pastimes was watching comedy shows, along with western shows and movies in general.  He also loved to read the bible.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Taylor, grandmother, Carrial Taylor; and brother, Wayne Taylor.

Melvin leaves cherished memories to his mother, Daisy Louvern Pitts; father, David Simmons; children, Melvin Kedrick Taylor, Jr., Melvin Dewayne Taylor III, Carolyn Denise Jones, Labarian Antwon Jones, siblings, Elaine Jones, Dr. Amaris Baraka, Angela Pitts, Levern Simmons, Fred Jones, Gene Simmons, Cory Lewis; aunt, Virgina Taylor; a host of nephews; nieces, including his favorite niece, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Jones; other relatives and friends, including a devoted friend, Izora McDowell.
