McKinley "Peter" Hill, Jr. Obituary

McKinley Hill, Jr., affectionately known as "Peter", entered the world on March 24, 1939, in Milledgeville, GA. He was born to the late McKinley and Mattie Lou Hill as the third eldest of six children. He had a passion for playing pool, cards, and watching sports. He was a 1960 graduate of J. F. Boddie High School in Milledgeville, GA. He loved hanging out with his family and friends; he was known for his sense of humor. He was a hard worker, most of the time working two jobs to provide for his family. He retired in 1994 from Central State Hospital as a Healthcare Service Technician with 34 years of service. Rooted in a devoted Christian upbringing, he accepted Christ and joined Spring Hill Baptist Church in Milledgeville, GA.


He was deeply loved by his siblings: Elizabeth Curry (deceased, Charlie), Mary Preaston (Roger, both deceased), Willie Clarence Hill, (Cecelia, both deceased), Mattie Pearl Gilmore (James, deceased), and Annie Lee Taylor (James, deceased).


He leaves to carry on his legacy his children: one devoted daughter, Sherri Waller (Cornelius, deceased) of Milledgeville, GA, two sons: James Hill (Debra) and Barry Hill, both of Milledgeville, GA; four grandchildren: one devoted granddaughter Myia Waller of Milledgeville, GA and three grandsons: Deon Waller (Hanh) of Gainesville, GA, James Hill, Jr., and Barry Hill, Jr both of Milledgeville, GA; five great grandchildren; a devoted nephew, Robert Preaston, and also a host of nieces and nephews that will remember the impact he left behind.
