Mary Ellen Hooks, 82, of Milledgeville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, June 9th, 2026, at Atrium Health Navicent in Macon, Georgia.

Mary was born in Sandersville, GA on July 18, 1943, to the parents of the late Mr. Will Marshall and the late Mrs. Ellen Worthen Marshall.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Mrs. Cora West, Mrs. Dorothy Warren, and Mrs. Anita Finney; brothers, Mr. Frank Swint, Mr. James Swint, Mr. Willie Marshall, Mr. T.J. Marshall, and Mr. Adam Marshall. Her daughter, Joyce Gail Marshall also preceded her in death.

Mary was very known and well respected in her community. Everybody loved her and her bubbly personality. She enjoyed spending time with her dogs, sitting on her porch doing crossword puzzles, scratching lottery tickets and drinking her Dr. Pepper.

She leaves to cherish her memories with one daughter, Ms. Marion Marshall; two sons, Mr. Calvin (Sandra) Hooks and Tracy Marshall, all of Milledgeville, GA; one sister, Frances Gibson; twelve grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
