Mary Will Steele was the daughter of the late Mr. Will A. Steele, Sr. and late Mrs. Marion E. Davis Steele. She was born December 28, 1958, in Milledgeville, GA.

She departed this life Friday, May 2, 2025. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Mr. Lucious N. Butts; two sisters, Florence Davis and Shirley Steele; five brothers, Charles Steele, Cyrus Steele, Will Steele Jr., Josh Steele Sr., and Will Steele III (Olla).

"Mae Will" was a woman of unwavering strength, kindness, and a live spirit. She attended Baldwin High School and played basketball and softball. Her love for softball extended on in adulthood. She never met a stranger and was always the life of the party. She was well known for being the best swinger in Milledgeville. In her later years, she found joy in her grandchildren, whom she loved deeply.

Mary is survived by two sisters, Ingrid B. Daniels and Rosa L. Sims; one brother, Fredrick Steele (Judy); five children, Fredrico Roberson (Edna), James Williams Jr. (Crystal), Teresa Mosley (Andre), Sheneka Butts, and Jarvis Steele; fourteen grandchildren, Jatasia Butts, Aylexys Butts, Cikeria Butts, Destiny Butts, Madison Lamar, Paris Mosley, Brandy Roberson, Edith Roberson, Zy'Brion Coleman, Jaiden Steele, Arizona Steele, I'yana Steele, Zyaire Steele and Braleigh Johnson; two great grandchildren, Rae'Lynn Butts and Kenzo Williams; as well as a host of loving and devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; one devoted, friend Karen Bolston.
