Mary Wheatley, affectionately known as Mary Blue, was born to the parentage of Milton Wheatley and Evelyn Leon Pitts on February 24, 1926, in Haddock, Georgia departed this life September 12, 2025 peacefully in a local hospital. She attended Gray public school in Jones County.

Mary Wheatley accepted Christ at an early age attending Adams Tabernacle C.M.E. Church.

Ms. Wheatley was the matriarch of her family. She was a homemaker. She was also employed at Baldwin hospital for twenty-five years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, serving, feeding the family, neighbors, and strangers alike. She was a lady that loved to tell about the history of Haddock.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Leon Pitts and father, Milton Wheatley and auntie, Sadie Wheatly and cousin, Mildred Bryant.

She leaves to cherish very fond memories of her children, Ms. Evangelist Geraldine Little of Atlanta, GA, Mr. Leroy Wheatly (Linda Wheatley), Roger Wheatley (Cynthia), and Mrs. Shirley Robinson of Augusta, GA; grandchildren, Vonda Tuft, Patricia Dumas, Shanisha Wheatley, Dover Tuft, Micheal Tuft, Eric Tuft, Corey Tuft, Rylik Wheatley; sixty-two great and great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends; two very devoted friends who were like daughters to her, Ms. Barbara Lewis and Ms. Cecila Lanier.
