Mary Thomas

Mrs. Mary Thomas, of Milledgeville, Georgia passed away on Monday, March 23, 20202 at Navicent Health Baldwin, Milledgeville.

Funeral services were held privately with family.

The beloved Mary A. Thomas was born October 14, 1937 in Natchez, Mississippi to the parentage of Roger Adams Jr. and Annie Strickland Adams. She graduated Natchez High School in 1955 and was married to the late Joseph Thomas Sr.  She was a member of the Cosmopolitan (Warriors) Church of Christ in Chicago, IL.

On Monday, March 23, 2020, our beloved Mary was called home leaving a legacy of love, service, and laughter to all her family, friends and those who came in contact with her.

She was preceded in death by her brothers: Roger Adams III, Lawrence Adams, Ceasar Adams, Mack Williams, James (Bell) Williams; step mother, Minnie (Dear) Adams.

Left to mourn her legacy: one son, Joseph Thomas Jr. of Milledgeville, GA; three grandsons, Bruce and Maurice of Decatur, GA, Godwin (Kofi) Thomas of McDonough, GA; three granddaughters, Jasmine of Decatur, GA, Bizuwerk and Kalkidan of McDonough, GA; one sister, Ruth Ann Rice, of Chicago, IL; three brothers: Clarence Adams, of Jackson, MS, Charles Adams, of Chicago, IL, Nelson Adams, of Natchez, MS; nine nieces: Betty Rice, Cynthia Rice, Lisa Rice, all of Chicago, IL, Beverly Adams, Deatrice Adams, Jackie Adams, Shabilla Adams, Lenifer Adams, Maranda Adams, all of Natchez, MS; two nephews: Adrian Adams, Lawrence Adams, Jr., both of Jackson, MS; several other relatives and friends.
