Marquis S. McCray

It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mr. Marquis McCray, Milledgeville, Georgia. Mr. McCray passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022.

Marquis S. McCray was born on May 7, 1984 10 to the parentage of Mr. and Mrs. Otis and Eva Paschal. He was the grandson of the late Johnny and Floretha Little. Marquis attended Baldwin County Public School system. At an early age he joined along with his family the Deliverance Revival Center. After graduating from high school, he went to truck driving school at Central Georgia Technical College in Putnam County. After completion of his training, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia. He worked as a trucker for many years. He enjoyed working as a trucker delivering goods of every kind from the west coast to east coast. He enjoyed different and beautiful scenery from each new state he visited. He finally slowed down to meet his wife Carla Person McCray. Under their matrimony, they were blessed with a beautiful daughter McKenzie. Marquis went back to his first love, which is the Lucas Temple True church of God & Christ under the leadership of Bishop Oprie Jeffries. He accepted Christ as his Lord and savior and was baptized.
 

Marquis is survived by his wife Carla Person McCray; Daughter, MaKenzie McCray; parents Otis and Eva Paschal; sisters Jessica Golden (Brandon), Brittney Paschal; Uncles Julius Roberson (Lillie), Michael McCray, Joseph Andrews; and a host of cousins and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at 2:00 PM from the Griffin Memorial Chapel, Milledgeville, Georgia. 

He is survived by his loving family and friends.
