Marion Reeves Obituary

It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mr. Marion Reeves, Milledgeville, Georgia. Mr. Reeves passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022.


Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 11:00AM from the Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment to follow from the Sons of Wisdom and Daughters of Light Cemetery of County Line Baptist Church, Haddock, Georgia. 


 Marion "Tenny" Reeves was born in Milledgeville, GA on January 11, 1947. He was the son of the late Ceborn and Helen Reeves. 


At an early age Marion confessed that Christ is his Personal Lord and Savior joining Mt. Zion Baptist Church. As a teenager Marion attended the public School of Boddie Junior High in Baldwin County.


Marion Retired from Central State Hospital, where he worked as a Meat Butcher and a Painter. Marion had the hobbies of Farming, Fishing, Painting, and doing carpentry work. 


On Sunday November 06, 2022, our beloved " Tenny" went home to be with the Lord Marion was preceded in death by his sister, Veronica Reeves Ingram and Greatgrandson Montrell Scott. 


He is survived by his wife Mrs. Mary Frances Reeves, Daughters, Sharon Taylor and Yolanda Reeves; Sons, Marion Benard (Cherise) Reeves, Dara (Juwanna) Davis, Keifer Lumpkin and Reginald (Meka) Harris. Sisters Naomi (Jerry) Gilmore, Sarah Reeves, Faye (Edward) Webb and Cynthia Hogan Reeves, Brothers, Melvin Reeves and Orrian (Nanette) Reeves. Grandchildren, Wykeisha (Joseph) Hurt, Tomeka (Melvin) Ross, Kiamber Davis,  JuMario Reeves, DaQuanna Reeves, Terrell Scott. Great Grandchildren, Gracen Hurt, Jacobi, Melody and Jemelro Ross, Kameron, Daija, Dynasty, Jayla and Jasmine Reeves. 


He also leaves to cherish his memories to a Devoted Friend/ Caregiver (Barbara Stephens), God Grandchildren Rhonda (Tega) Tasia, Taylor, Tyler and Randy. Good Friends, Johnny Phelps/ Mr. Beckum and Bennie Wright.
