Marguerite Bonner

Ms. Marguerite Bonner of Albany, GA passed away, Sunday June 16, 2024, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Marguerite was born in Milledgeville, GA on September 21,1948, to Patrick “Boss” Bonner Sr, and Viola Reaves Bonner.

Marguerite was educated in the Baldwin County School System and graduated from Boddie High School in the Class of 1966. She continued her education at Albany State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1973.

After graduation, Marguerite was employed by Albany State University where she eventually became the Director of the Word Processing Department, working closely beside her longtime colleagues Mrs. Helen Black and Mr. David Lawrence. She retired from her beloved alma mater in 2004, after thirty-one years of dedicated service.

Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Viola Bonner; her sister, Mary Holcomb; her brothers, Patrick “Pat” Bonner Jr., and Crawford Williams, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories; her two devoted children, Rodderick Bonner and Tammie Renee Bonner of Albany, GA; two nieces, Eyvonna Holcomb of Detroit, MI and Charisse Bonner Downing (Tony) of Tampa FL; her devoted and cherished friends, Marie Arnold Williams of Gray, GA, Janice Wright of Austell, GA, Paulette Wynn of ,Savannah GA, Dorothy Gaines of Albany, GA and Helen Black of Albany, GA; a host of other relatives, friends, and the Albany State Rams Alumni, faculty and staff survives her.

Funeral Services were held on Friday June 21, 2024, at 1:00 PM from the Griffin Memorial Chapel of Slater's Funeral Home, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment followed from the Brown Grove CME Church Cemetery, Milledgeville, Georgia.
