On Friday, July 10, 2020, God called our Beloved Mable Jackson home. She passed away peacefully at the blessed age of 99.
Mable was born on May 17, 1921 in Eatonton, Georgia to the parentage of the late Adeline Lawson-Butts and the late Tome Parks. Mable was wed in holy matrimony to the late Robert Jackson. During their union they had one son who preceded them shortly after birth. She was a member of St. Luke Baptist Church, located on Sparta, Highway.
"Aunt Mable" as she was affectionately known by her family and everyone who met her. She lived her life to the fullest. Her loving smile always lit up the room along with her dance moves. If music was playing, she was up and moving. She was an avid walker, walking hundreds of miles throughout her lifetime. She walked everywhere, every day and never met a stranger. Aunt Mable was considered the caregiver of family. If Aunt Mable didn't keep you as a child, then you definitely missed a life changing experience. Although Aunt Mable didn't have any living children of her own, she had many generations of nieces and nephews who loved her as a mom and she loved them as her children.
Before her death, Aunt Mable was the oldest living relative of the Lawson Family lineage. She is survived by her only sibling, her sister, Mary C. Stone and a host of generations of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her three sisters: Janie Clark, Louise Wilson, Estelle Milline; two brothers: Ben Clark and John Thomas Clark.
Special Acknowledgement: Her devoted niece, Margaret Simmons. The love you provided to Aunt Mable over the years will never go unnoticed. Thank you for being the outstanding niece to stand in the gap of being a daughter figure to Aunt Mable. You ensured she always had what she needed and wanted. She loved you dearly.
Devoted great-niece, Faye Callaway. There are no words that can express how grateful the family is for your selfless care. You granted Aunt Mable her living wish.; not to live in a nursing home. When no one else could, you said you would. You provided her a home and cared for her without asking for help. You stepped in to care for during some of the best days of her life and the very last days of her life. For the family is forever grateful.
Special thanks to Gateway Healthcare Agency, devoted caregivers who loved her and cared for her as is she was their own: Lizzie Harris and Mary I. Jackson. The love and care you all provided is greatly appreciated.
Serenity Hospice of Dublin for providing respite services, care and comfort.
