Lucy L. Burney was born on May 2, 1944, in Baldwin County to the parentage of Robert Watson and Josephine Johnson Watson (who preceded her in death).
Lucy attended Baldwin County Public School. She worked for CSH Retiring after 30 years. On October 2, 1960, she was united in holy matrimony to the late Charles R. Burney Sr. The union was blessed with four beloved sons Charles Jr., Clarence, the late Alonzo, and Reginald. Lucy accepted God as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She attended New Vision Church of God in Christ until her health declined.
Despite Mrs. Burney's health issues over the years, she always stayed obedient to Christ, reading her bible daily. She enjoyed fishing and playing her gospel music throughout the house. She quietly departed this life on Sunday, December 29, 2024 in the comfort of her home.
Her life will be cherished in the lives of her children: Charles, Clarence, and Reginald (Nikki) Burney, all of Milledgeville GA; twelve grandchildren; great-grandchildren; one sister, Rosa Morgan; brothers, Marion Watson and Rev. Robert Watson Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
