Mrs. Lois Marie Thomas, of Milledgeville, Georgia entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at her residence.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 11:00 AM from the Victory Baptist Church, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment will follow in the Scenic Memorial Gardens, Milledgeville, Georgia.
Mrs. Lois M. Thomas was born July 10, 1948, to the parentage of the late Mr. Clemon Reeves, Sr. and the late Mrs. Kate E. Phelps Reeves in Baldwin County, Georgia. She was the middle of nine children. She attended Baldwin County public school system. Lois joined Oak Grove Baptist Church at a young age and worked diligently until moving her membership to Mt. Hope CME Church under Rev. Willie F. Green. She served on the Stewardess Board and other auxiliaries of the church. She was a dedicated church worker and later moved her membership and joined Greater Mt. Zion Baptist church under the leadership of Pastor Corey Smith. She served as a missionary, working faithfully until her health began to decline. Lois was a kind devoted mother, sister, friend, and shepherd of the Lord. She was married to Mr. Johnnie Thomas for forty-two years. He preceded her in his homegoing on July 22, 2019. Some of her hobbies included cooking, going on trips (especially cruising), working in her flower garden and having family gatherings. Lois worked as a HST at Central State Hospital where she retired. After some illness and an uphill journey, she was called home from labor to reward, she answered that calling “Lord Here I Am”. She will be greatly missed by so many. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thomas is survived by her children Daryl Reeves (Pamela), Marcus Thomas (Cassandra), Kenneth Thomas (Veronique), Eugene Thomas (Shonda), Anthony Thomas (Coretta), Shedarius Johnson; 14 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; three brothers, Clemon Reeves, Jr. (Elder Roxie), Lee Reeves, Dennis Reeves, Sr. (Earnestine); five sisters, Bertha Palmer, Mary Reeves, Dorothy Reeves, Bernice Saulsbury (George), Elizabeth Reeves; aunts, Geloria Phelps, Lula Phelps and Regina Phelps; brothers-inlaw, Bruce Thomas (Evelyn), Richard Thomas, Charles Thomas; sisters-in-law, Gloria Davis, Janice Reeves, and Vivian Thomas, all of Milledgeville, GA; devoted friend and next door neighbor, Ms. Doris Adams; a special, loving caregiver, Dorothy Reeves; a host of nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.
