Linda Louise Butts Edwards was born on June 7, 1947 to  the parents of the late Robert Butts, Sr., and Louise Butts Cooper of Sparta, Georgia. It was on Wednesday morning, January 7, 2026 that Linda was called home to eternal rest. Linda worked many years at Central State Hospital until retirement in 2006. She was a member at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church and enjoying giving to support the ministry. Her favorite pastime was doing puzzles, talking to family and friends, and watching her favorite TV shows.

She leaves a legacy of cherished memories in the hearts of loving family which includes three children: devoted daughter Sophia Edwards of Sparta, son Bryon Edwards (Brenda) of Roberta, GA, and daughter Patricia Edwards of Sparta, GA; three grandchildren: Brenna Edwards,, Brittny Edwards both of Roberta GA, and Christopher Lundy of Milledgeville, GA; three great grandchildren of Milledgeville, GA; five brothers: Bennie Butts of Sparta, GA, Walter (Shirley) Butts of Sparta, GA, Alvin (Diane) Butts of Tennille GA, Michael (Mary) Cooper of Milledgeville, GA, Dennie (Tammy) Butts of Frostburg, Maryland; one sister: Cynthia Cooper of Warner Robins, GA, brother-in-law C.S Hall of Sparta, GA, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband Tommie Lee Edwards; siblings Gloria Hall, Robert Butts, and Sheila Cooper.
