It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mr. Levi Lewis, II, Eatonton, Georgia. Mr. Lewis passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, in Albany, Georgia. 

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, the Griffin Memorial Chapel of Slater's Funeral Home, Milledgeville at 1:00 PM. The interment followed the services. 

Mr. Levi Lewis, II, was born September 13, 1958, in Milledgeville, Georgia to the late Mr. Levi Terell Lewis, Sr. and the late Mrs. Mary Isom Wright Lewis. Mr. Lewis traded this life for eternity on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, Phoebe Memorial Hospital, Albany, Georgia.


Mr. Lewis was educated in the Baldwin County School System where he enjoyed playing football and basketball, graduating from J.F. Boddie High School in 1976. He continued his education at Georgia Military College and Georgia College and State University majoring in Physical Education. While at Georgia College he met and married his wife of many years Sallie M. Ward Lewis. After moving to the Atlanta Mr. Lewis was dedicated in providing for his family, working as a law enforcement officer. Upon his return to the Eatonton-Milledgeville area he was employed with Lowe’s in the Gardening Center and Walmart in the Tire and Lube Department. Mr. Lewis believed in the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and early in life was united with the Abundant Life Pentecostal Church where he served as “Father of Counsels”


He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother Mr. Ernest Butts.


He is survived by his children: Ms. Nichandra Lewis, Eatonton, GA, Ms. Kina (Joel) Durden Williams, and Mr. Levi Lewis, III, Milledgeville, Georgia; siblings: Mr. Cary Lewis, Mr. Perone Lewis, Ms. Sonya Lewis, Mr. Robert Butts, and Mr. Ernest Butts; one aunt Mrs. Annie Bell Miner; five grandchildren: Zakiya Durden, Nakiya Durden, Moniya Walker, Carmea Walker, and Marquice
Hunter, Jr.; one great granddaughter: Dior Ivey; several other relatives and friends.
