Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, and if I go and prepare for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself. That where I am, there ye may be also.
John 14:1-3
Death comes to man in all seasons and at all ages thus it came to Mr. Leroy Newkirk on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, in the hospital, Milledgeville, GA.
Leroy was a twin, the only son out of five girls, born December 3, 1955 to the parentage of the late Mr. Charles Latrick Newkirk and the late Mrs. Jessie Mae Newkirk in Camden, NJ but lived in Milledgeville, GA most of his life. He attended the public schools of Baldwin County.
Leroy was a kind and loving person. He enjoyed fishing and he was smart at doing odd jobs for his livelihood. His light shined through his jokes, his laughter, and sometimes through the twinkle in his eyes.
To have, to hold, and then to part, it's the greatest sorrow of our heart. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Mary H. Brown and Ms. Celestine Newkirk.
Leory leaves his son, Marlo Newkirk of Las Vegas, Nevada; two grandchildren, Marlo Kakiea Newkirk of Douglasville, GA, Tatyianah Jeanette Lee Whiting of Las Vegas, Nevada; three sisters, Ms. Peggy Newkirk of Milledgeville, GA, Mrs. Charlene Wilcher (Anthony) Wilcher of Macon, GA, his twin sister, Mrs. Lillian Hicks of Conyers, GA; nephews, Anthony Brown of Savannah, GA, Jeffery Newkirk of Camden, New Jersey, Brad Harris of Camden, New Jersey, Alonzo A. (Shanna) Mosley of Hampton, GA, Travis Hudson, Rodney Hitchcock, both of Milledgeville, GA, Anthony Wilcher, Jr., Brandon Wilcher, both of Macon, GA; nieces, Ms. Daphne Cooper of Macon, GA, Mrs. Theresa (Bryant) Moore of Conyers, GA, Ms. Meta Simmons of Milledgeville, GA, Ms. Latonya M.
