Leon Spikes, III

Mr. Leon Spikes, III, of 100 Thomas Cooper Road SW, Milledgeville, Georgia passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Coliseum Medical Center, Macon, Georgia.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 2:00 PM from the Cooper Hill Baptist Church, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment was held in the Sons of Wisdom and Daughters of Light of County Line Baptist Church Cemetery, Milledgeville, Georgia.

Mr. Leon Spikes III was born June 10, 1947 in Milledgeville, GA to the late Leon Spikes, Jr. and Hattie Spikes.  He departed this life December 17, 2018.  He was preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Latrina Renee Spikes, and son-in-law, Alfonzo Lee.

Leon gave his life over to God at a young age when he joined Coopers Hill Baptist Church.  He was educated through the Baldwin County School System.  He had a lifelong passion as a Master Mechanic.  He worked in various positions in Food Service at Central State Hospital until he retired in June 1999.  He always enjoyed being surrounded by his family while they enjoyed his home cooked meals.

Leon is survived by his devoted friend, Ms. Shelia Green; six children, Mr. Jimmie Spikes, Ms. Virginia Lee, Mr. Timothy Spikes, Mr. Leon (Celisha) Spikes IV, Mr. Clarence Spikes, and Mrs. Teresa (Tori) Jackson; one sister, Mrs. Mary (Johnny C) Spikes-Ford; six brothers, Mr. Willie (Jackie) Spikes, Mr. Wilbur (Kathy) Spikes, Mr. Earnest (Cynthia) Spikes, Mr. Charles Spikes, all of Milledgeville, GA, Mr. Emmett (Linda) Spikes of El Paso, Texas, and Mr. Chester Spikes of Oakland, California; 16 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a host of cherished nieces, nephews and other relatives.
