Lee Braswell Obituary

Lee Edgar Braswell of Washington County ascended to his heavenly home on July 22, 2024.

A hard working and diligent man, Lee gave over thirty dutiful years to the city of Milledgeville and Baldwin County as a Lieutenant firefighter. When he wasn't fighting fires or listening to music, he surrounded himself with loved ones and friends that he cherished dearly. A strong and active man, he was a certified smoke diver with a passion for working out at the gym.  He also had a love for working in his yard. Lee made it his sole purpose to make sure his wife, Mary, daughter, and grandchildren were happy beyond measure. Born in 1950, Lee was a graduate of Washington County, but has been a resident of Milledgeville since his marriage to his wife Mary. Lee was the second born son of the late Mozelle and Ennis Braswell, Sr.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Evie Lee Roberson, brother, Ennis Braswell, Jr.; two children, Kenneth Smith and Trina Hurst; and a son-in-law, Gregory Hill.

Lee spent his days around a host of loving family and friends. He wouldn't have it any other way.

Lee is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, Mary; his daughter, Zinovia Braswell-Hill; grandchildren, Kenneth Smith (Kim), Tosheanna Hill and Jamareus Hill; great grandchildren, Lyric and Kenneth Smith; mother-in-law, Vondell Washington; brothers-in-law, Arnold Lee Washington (Elizabeth), Victor Washington of Milledgeville, Craig Washington (Gloria) of Macon, Kalvin Washington of Milledgeville, and Kelvin Washington (Justina) of Dublin; only surviving niece, Angela Brown; loyal friends, Barney Young, David Hopkins and others.

To know Lee was to truly love him. He will be remembered as a strong and devoted man.  He will be missed.
