It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Ms. Lawender Patton, Milledgeville, Georgia. Ms. Patton passed away on Tuesday, March 7,2023.

Lawender Patton (affectionately known as Wendy), was born on the 11th day of June 1951 in Detroit, Michigan. Lawender was born to the union of Lowerenda Spearman and Mattie Foye Dixon. Lawender accepted Christ at an early age and maintained her relationship with Christ throughout her life and was a member of Beth-El Faith Church at the time of her passing on the 7th day of March 2022.
A graduate of Southeastern High School in Detroit Michigan, Lawender earned her Associates Degree from Wayne County Community College. She also attended cosmetology school and became a licensed Cosmetologist. Lawender worked for the Detroit Board of Education where she started as a “Noon-Hour Aide” and retired as a custodian.
Lawender was a kind and loving person who always had a smile and encouraging word for all that she met. She enjoyed entertaining, cooking and hosting family. She also had a passion for giving back to the community and served as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, participating in many Relay for life survivor walks, as well as serving at Covenant Hospice and American Red Cross. Lawender also enjoyed gardening, shopping and most of all caring for her children and grand children.
Lawender was preceded in death by Mattie Foye Dixon (Mother), Lowerenda Spearman (Father), Jarrett Simmons (Brother), Carlotta Moore (Sister). Lawender is survived by three loving children William Langford (Karen), Noland Langford, Ebony Hamilton, Mary Allean Sherrill (sister), Undra Griffin (sister), Debbie Watkins (God Sister), eight grandchildren Autumn, Nicholas, Julian, Jada, Christian, Jalyn, Noah, Tanner, Loving Nieces and Nephews, Monica, Lee, Orlando and Gabriel and four great grandchildren Ava-Lee, Nora-Jean, Madison, Isla-Grace and her faithful feline companion Ronnie.
