It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mrs. Laura Freeman, Milledgeville, Georgia. Mrs. Freeman passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 2:00 PM from the Grace Point First Assembly of God Church Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment to follow.

Mrs. Laura Lucile Freeman departed this life Saturday, June 24, 2023 and entered into the glories of heaven and met her LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Mrs. Freeman was born March 27, 1937 to the parentage of the late Ananias Stevenson and the late Mrs. Lucile Goddard.  She attended the public schools of Baldwin County.

At a very early age, Mrs. Freeman became a member of Scotts Chapel CME Church which she served faithfully as the church secretary.  She also visited other churches in Baldwin County. Mrs. Freeman retired from Central State Hospital as a Hospital Aide Technician, working with handicap children and adults. She was married to the late Mr. Curtis Freeman.

Her memories will be cherished by her daughter, Miss Irene Stevenson; half-sister, Delores Waller and her children, Daryll and Kenya Waller) all of Milledgeville; one sister, Miss Gloria Ann Goddard of Milledgeville; her devoted sister-in-law, Ms. Evette Goddard of Milledgeville; nieces, Mrs. Sharon (Charles) Pitts of Atlanta, GA, Nichole (Philip) Holsey of Milledgeville, GA, Gwenita (Dewayne) Jackson of Milledgeville, GA, Ms. Albertina Brown of Fort Valley, GA; nephews, Delma Goddard III, Zackery Anderson, both of Milledgeville, GA; cousins she considered as sisters and a brother, Mrs. Dorothy Mobley of Edgewood, FL, Mrs. Mary Alice Manson of Atlanta, GA, Apostle Jesse (Betty) Stevenson of Milledgeville, GA, Mr. Ronald (Eva) Stevenson of Milledgeville, GA, Ms. Myra Parham of Milledgeville, GA; dearest friend, Pastor Linda (Dorsey Lee) Webster of Milledgeville, GA; a host of other relatives and friends.
