Latoya French Obituary

It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Ms. Latoya French, Milledgeville, Georgia. Ms. French passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 11:00 AM from the Victory Baptist Church, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment will be held from the Scenic Memorial Gardens, Milledgeville, Georgia.

LaToya SuQueena French, the daughter of the late Alex French III and Gwendolyn L. French was born in Baldwin County, Milledgeville, Georgia on October 27, 1978. LaToya was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, auntie and friend. She lived for her girls, Briajha, Ashton and Bridget. LaToya loved her family and always made sure to be present always, all the way till the end.

She received her high school education from Baldwin High School, graduating in the Class of 1997. After graduating from high school, she was gainfully employed with the Department of Corrections. She then furthered her education by obtaining a bachelor's degree in Medical Billing and Coding. 

LaToya was preceded in death by her father, Alex French III; brother, Alex French IV; and nephew, Chaz Antonio Basley.

LaToya departed this life August 29, 022 after a battle for years with diabetes. LaToya fought a long battle, and she was strong in her fight. God saw LaToya was tired and called her home to take her place at His table and wear her crown.

She leaves to cherish her memories, grandparents, Harriet French, Alex French II, Earl Rawls, Sr. and Bernice Rawls; uncles, Nathaniel (Carolyn) Rawls, Earl (Drucilla) Rawls, Jr., Rickey Rawls, Walter (Debra) French, Sr.; aunts, Linda (Charles) Zellars, Maranda (Anthony) Thomas, Denette (Troy) Williams, Annie (Bobby) Lango, Kitty Haam, Elaine French, Yaland Napier; one nephew and three nieces whom she loved dearly, Alex, Alexis and Madison French; her best friend, Aldelyn G. Basley; three devoted friends, Pamela Smith, Alicia Adams and Mikita Fordam; devoted cousin, Cassidy Muhammed; a host of other relatives and friends.
