She was preceded in death by her son the late Mr. James Lee White Jr; beloved parents: Elder Willie and Mother Pearl Cordy; siblings: JB Cordy, Willie Pearl Taylor, Eugene Cordy, Alph Cordy, Hattie Brown, Pearlie C. Little.
Mother Kathleen was born on June 9, 1955, in Bartow, Georgia, to the late Elder Willie and Mother Pearl Cordy. Kathleen was affectionately known as Momma Duke. She was a woman of deep faith, unyielding strength, and unfailing goodwill. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She dedicated her life to serving the church, her family, and her community. Her timeless wisdom, generous spirit, and warm heart touched everyone who was blessed to know her.
Mother Kathleen worked at Wrightsville Manor as Dietary Aide for 15 years and retired in December 2020. She received the Holy Ghost in 1968. Mother Kathleen was devoted to several ministries over a faithful 50-year journey including Greater Faith Community Church under the leadership of Bishop Curtiss Cordy. She served on the GFCC Monday Night Prayer Line, Usher board, the Hospitality Committee, and Outreach Ministry. She was devoted to fasting, prayer, and interceding for those that called on her consistently. Mother Kathleen was an avid spiritual and family historian. Mother Kathleen traveled to support Fire Deliverance and Recovery Outreach and No Cross No Crown Outreach Ministries. Her commitment to God, family, and community overflowed into her day-to-day life. Mother Kathleen was not only “mama” to her children, but she was also “Woo-Woo” to her great grandchildren.
She leaves behind a legacy of love to her faithful children; Mrs. Karen S. (Pastor Bryant) White-Aaron and Mr. Malcolm J. (Kadedra) White, Ms. Tonya V. Gilmore; Grandchildren: Ms. LaKendria Aaron, Ms. LaKia (Issac) Washington-Howard, Mrs. Breaella (Jermaine) Wilcox, Mrs. LaKaylen (William) Davis, Ms. Eboni D. Jordan, Ms. Sarai E. Coleman, Mr. Caleb J. Coleman, and Little Miss Kamille M. White. Great-grandchildren: Little Mr. Khalil J. Harris, Little Mr. Kolbe J. Barron, Little Miss Aasiyah and Amina Wilcox.
She will also be cherished by her siblings Mother Beulah Little, Mother Bobbie Jean Taylor, Deacon Ralph Cordy (Gwendolyn), Otis Cordy (Betty Jean), Ozie Cordy Gilmore. Best friends: Mrs. Develyn Hagans, Mrs. Gloria Atkins-Spell, Mrs. Virginia Scott and Mrs. Vivian Kelsey; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, devoted church members, and friends.
